Somerset County Park Commission to Host Free Concert Series Featuring Classic Rock, R&B, and Country Music

Visitors should bring a blanket or a chair. A food truck will be onsite.

SOMERVILLE, NJ – The Somerset County Park Commission is hosting a free 2022 Summer Concert Series on Sundays beginning July 17 to Aug. 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Duke Island Park, located on 191 Old York Road, Bridgewater. Concert goers will enjoy classic rock, country, R&B, Motown, and pop while surrounded by the park’s natural beauty. Admission is free.

The following bands will be performing on the below dates:
July 17 – AM Gold-The New York City-based tribute band will perform “yacht rock,” the musical genre also known as “smooth rock” with hits from the 1970s and 1980s such as popular music from Hall & Oates, Christopher Cross, Lionel Richie and more.

 July 24 – Radio Nashville-This six-piece band, Radio Nashville, is comprised of a female fiddle player and fantastic lead guitarist who appeals to all ages. Their performance of modern, pop-country and classic country music with hits by Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, and more will have the audience dancing in their seats.

July 31 – Stan Zizka’s DelSatins-The DelSatins quintet began performing in Manhattan in 1958 and was influenced by R&B groups like the Heartbeats, The Dubs, and The Flamingos. They released two R&B CDs titled “Still Wanderin” and “Voices of Velvet & Steel.”

 Aug. 7  The Launch Band-As the only tri-state area tribute band, the Launch Band performs music from Queen, Styx, and Boston, which features rich harmonies and powerful guitars. The Launch recreates the feeling of a classic rock concert like no other.

 Aug. 14 – Epic Soul-From soul-stirring Motown medleys to today’s R&B, pop, rock, and contemporary hits, EPIC SOUL rolls from one song to another and keeps the audience entertained. These talented musicians have toured with some of the music industry’s top performers such as Alicia Keys, Gloria Gaynor, Mariah Carey, Chaka Kahn, Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony, and South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
