8/21/2024 - Join the ‘Magically Mysterious’ Monarch Workshop at the Leonard J. Buck Garden



FAR HILLS, NJ – Discover the fascinating life cycle of monarch butterflies at the Lenoard J. Buck Garden on Aug. 22! Pre-registration is required.

Join Cynthia Hedin, a Somerset County Master Garnder, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., as she hosts an educational workshop to explore the unique behaviors and habitats of monarchs.

During the months of summer and early fall, monarchs are easily spotted in the northern region of the United States and great swarms can be seen flying south. However, in the winter months, the monarch population would seemingly vanish

The hands-on workshop will explore the mysterious monarchs and explain how scientists eventually solved the winter mystery in the 1970’s
