BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Create a festive evergreen swag to hang in or outside of the home during the holidays at the Make Your Own Evergreen Swag workshop. The holiday workshop takes place on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at North Branch Park, 355 Milltown Road, Bridgewater.
Why DIY? According to the American Journal of Public Health, crafting projects can bolster one’s mood, increase self-confidence, reduce stress, improve mental agility, and help decrease the risk of cognitive decline.
“These holiday workshops are one of our favorites, since there aren’t a lot of classes happening this late in the season. This class gets people out and into the holiday spirit,” said Somerset County Park Commission Horticulture Manager Rodrigo Jordy. “The festive swags are created with winterberry and greens that were harvested from our gardens by our staff of horticulturists. The handmade bows are the perfect touch for a beautiful piece.”
