Railroad historian (and Peapack & Gladstone Council President) Mark Corigliano will take attendees through time to the 1860's and the building of the transcontinental railroad across North America.
With the 150th Anniversary of the completion of this epic project approaching, the presenter will discuss the financing and construction of the line, the challenge facing engineers, and how a unique group of Americans conquered the vast wilderness of the western United States to push the line through and open the west to development. This presentation will feature interesting period photographs and a surprise demonstration or two.
