Emergency Services Training Academy Offers Courses for Everyone
First Responders, Organizations, Industry and Residents
HILLSBOROUGH – Somerset County Freeholder Sara Sooy invites first responders, organizations and residents who are interested in learning about first aid and safety procedures to enroll in courses to be given at the county’s Emergency Services Training Academy (ESTA).
“Not only do ESTA’s certified instructors teach courses about emergency response disciplines, but they also provide education to community entities such as the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, recreational departments and much more,” said Freeholder Sooy. “They also offer courses for anyone who wants to benefit from learning about standard first aid, CPR and emergency preparedness, as well as community emergency response team training, first aid in sports, fire extinguisher training, and even safety for babysitters.”
Also offered are compliance courses for industry and governmental agencies, which are taught by ESTA’s experienced staff of instructors, who are recognized nationally as subject matter experts.
Organizations that require an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance certification can enroll in OSHA-required classes such as Blood Borne Pathogens, Hazards Communications, Global Harmonization System (GHS) and Right to Know.
The 2019 ESTA course catalog is updated and published in April, August and December. County entities or residents who would like to enroll in classes should visit ESTA’s website frequently in order to stay informed about any specialty classes not shown in the catalog. Some courses are not published in the catalog because of being newly developed throughout the year due to demand or the availability of instructor expertise.
