CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER/TAX COLLECTOR (PART TIME) –BOROUGH OF PEAPACK AND GLADSTONE (SOMERSET)
The Borough is seeking a part-time Chief Financial Officer/Tax Collector with New Jersey CMFO and Collection certification and a minimum of five years local government finance department experience in NJ preferred. CFO should be able to prepare, file, interpret and explain the ADS, AFS, and SDS, able to maintain a general ledger for all funds. Prepare and oversee the budget in conjunction with the Administrator. Other responsibilities include maintenance of an encumbrance system, fixed asset system, debt and grant management, investment and disbursement of funds, bank reconciliations, oversight of accounts payable and receivable. Tax Collector; responsible for the oversight of the bookkeeping, calculation, and accounting functions to comply with all state law and municipal directives in the collection of property taxes. Proper calculation, preparation, and mailing of tax bills, the receipt and detailed accounting of all monies and/or checks received, the timely and accurate accounting and reporting of the activities of the office as required by state law and municipal directive, and assisting in the administration of procedures for the enforcement of timely payment of due taxes; tax lien sales and redemptions. Approximately 985-line items. Knowledge of Edmunds Software Systems and Excel is required. Flexible schedule based on candidate.
