While most residents are at home, there is no better time than now to fill out the 2020 Census survey. Be part of a positive initiative and be counted. Filling out the census data is important, since data will be used to determine how much funding Somerset County will receive for senior programs, health services, road and bridge maintenance, veterans’ services, schools and more.

The United States Census Bureau is a leading source for quality data about the U.S. and its people, places, housing and economy. The data collected from the census provides a snapshot of how communities in the nation are changing. This data will determine how approximately $675 billion of federal funding will be distributed. Information gathered from the 2020 Census survey is confidential by law and is enforced by the federal government.

The Somerset County Complete Count Committee, created by the Board of Chosen Freeholders and supported by the county Planning Division, has organized and managed 2020 Census activities that have helped promote and educate communities about the importance of completing the census survey.
