Final: Hurricane Joaquin has moved east off to sea and is no longer a threat to the east coast of the US. Keep up to date on Emergency situations by frequently checking the OEM Page of this website.
10/2/2015 0900: The risk from the hurricane appears to have lessened but we will continue to monitor its progress. The Nor'easter is here and we are experiencing the rain. Wind may be blustery today and the long duration rain should reduce the probability of flooding. Wind plus water-sodden ground could result in downed trees and consequent downed power and communications lines, and blocked roads. Remain vigilant and drive carefully.
10/1/15 1500: The governor has declared a state of emergency for New Jersey covering the Nor'easter expected Friday into Saturday and the possible arrival of the hurricane Monday and Tuesday. The current forecast calls for periods of rain and gusty winds for Friday and Saturday. The potential tracks of the hurricane give it a low probability of hitting NJ hard, but the possibility does exist. Monitor regular weather outlets for up to date information.
10/1/15 1100: The track of the storm is still uncertain. Our current estimation is that this may become a wind and rain event for Monday into Tuesday for Peapack-Gladstone (for more up to date weather forecasts please check with the National Weather Service). Our Police, Fire, First Aid, and DPW will make necessary preparations as the potential impact is evaluated over the next few days. Check back here for updated information.
