Tax Collector's Office

The Tax Collector’s office is open Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Friday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and located with the Finance Office.

Taxes are due on February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1 each year. There is a ten-day grace period. Payments received after the grace period will be charged interest from the due date. Postmarks are not accepted.

Tax Bills are usually mailed the end of June or the beginning of July. They include the final two quarters of the year and the first two quarters of the following year.

Added Assessment tax bills usually go out in October and are due on the 1st of November. You should have received a letter from the Tax Assessor explaining the assessment. Most major improvements to your property are subject to Added or Added/Omitted Assessments. Please make sure that you have all building permits closed out as soon as your project has been completed.

If you have recently purchased a home in Peapack & Gladstone Borough and you do not have the tax bill, please contact our office to obtain a copy.

When it comes time to file your income taxes please make sure that you have copies of your cancelled checks for quarterly payments as reference when completing your income taxes. No Accountant inquiries for paid amounts will be honored. This is for your protection as well as our own.

Senior Citizen Programs

Several programs are available to Senior Citizens to reduce property taxes. If you are a qualified senior, over the age of 65 and earning less than $10,000 per year not including Social Security, you can receive $250.00 off of your property taxes by completing a Request for Senior Citizen Deduction form. Please stop by the tax office pick up an application form or call us and we will mail one to you.

Property Tax Relief Programs
Senior/Social Security Disability Recipient (Homeowners, Renters, and Mobile Home Owners) https://www.nj.gov/treasury/taxation/relief.shtml
New in 2025 — Single Combined Application: The state of New Jersey has made it easier for seniors and those receiving Social Security Disability in New Jersey to apply for Property Tax Relief with a new, simplified process. Our goal is to make the filing experience more straightforward and efficient. We have a single combined application for the Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement), ANCHOR, and Stay NJ programs for residents 65 and over, or those collecting Social Security Disability Benefits. We will determine your eligibility for you and send a letter with the specific benefits you qualify for.

Online filing and printable applications are now available.

Your Blue Book has a New Look: Mailed application booklets (Form PAS-1) If you have already filed, there is no need to submit another application. We WILL NOT automatically file the PAS-1 for taxpayers 65 or older, or those receiving Social Security Disability. You MUST file the PAS-1 application on your own — online or by paper. This includes senior taxpayers who may only qualify for the ANCHOR program.

Filing Deadline: The deadline to file is October 31

Previous Senior Freeze Recipients
If you previously received the Senior Freeze, you will notice some major changes. The application looks different, the income standards have changed, and you will no longer need to calculate your reimbursement since it is a combined application. However, you will still maintain your base year as long as your municipality has not reassessed your property taxes.

Sewer

The Sewer collection office is open Monday through Thursday, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. We are located with the Finance Office.

Residential sewer payments are due on the 15th of April and October. There is a ten-day grace period. Payments received after the grace period will be charged interest from the due date. These bills are calculated on water consumption for the fourth quarter of the previous year, which is approximately the beginning of October through the beginning of January. Consume water wisely!

There is a Senior Citizen deduction on the sewer charges for those residents that are over the age of 65 years and own the property. This deduction is 10% of the base charge per year.

If you have recently purchased a home in Peapack & Gladstone Borough and you do not have the sewer bill, please contact our office to obtain a copy. The phone number is 908-234-2250 ext.104
