Peapack and Gladstone Incidents- Week of 8/8-8/14

Monday 8/8/16 5:51 PM - Police reported that a Gladstone resident was arrested for Simple Assault related to a domestic violence incident. The 54 year old male was arrested, processed, and released following the incident.

Wednesday 8/10/16 12:16PM - Police reported that they responded to Matheny Medical and Educational Center for a 911 call. Upon arriving it was determined that the call was as a result of a patient/student having stopped breathing. The victim was conscious and alert when officers arrived. The victim was not transported to a hospital at the request of Matheny Staff.

Wednesday 8/10/16 7:48 PM - Police reported they responded, along with the Peapack and Gladstone Fire Department, to the Gladstone Transit lot for a report of a vehicle leaking fuel. The vehicle was ultimately towed from the lot.

Wednesday 8/10/16 at 11:37 PM - Police reported that while conducting checks of Peapack businesses, they located a vehicle in a parking lot occupied by two individuals. Further investigation uncovered that a Domestic Violence Order was currently in place against one of the individuals by the other. The 21 year old male from Basking Ridge was placed under arrest for violating the Order. He was processed and released.

Thursday 8/11/16 at 12:29 AM - Police responded to the area of Rt. 206 near Pottersville Rd for a report of a possibly intoxicated driver. While responding, officers were advised that the caller was an off-duty South Plainfield officer. The vehicle was stopped on Pottersville Rd in Gladstone. Subsequently, the female operator was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. The woman, of Denville, was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under the Influence on School Zone, Failure to Consent to Breath Samples, Reckless Driving, Failure to Properly Display Registration, Failure to Notify Change of Address, and Failure to Maintain Lane. She was processed and released.

Friday 8/12/16 6:08 AM - Police reported they responded to the area of 65 Main Street for a report of wires down. It was determined that a tree limb fell which caused power lines and other utility lines to be torn from the pole. Wires also fell onto a resident’s vehicle parked in the driveway. Traffic was detoured around the incident location for a couple of hours until JCP&L could respond to remove them.

Friday 8/12/16 3:47 PM - Police reported that they responded to a Brynwood Court address for a 92 year old female feeling dizzy. The Peapack-Gladstone Rescue Squad responded, assumed patient care, and transported the female to Morristown medical Center.

Friday 8/12/16 5:45 PM - Police reported that they responded to the area of Pottersville Rd and Rt. 206 for a suicidal male with a knife. The caller stated that the individual with the knife had cut himself and was walking on Rt. 206 in the area of Church of the Hills. Ofc. Paul Morris located the individual and engaged him. The individual refused commands throughout the encounter and was eventually pepper-sprayed. At that time, the individual became compliant. He was taken into custody by Bedminster Twp Officers. The Peapack-Gladstone Rescue Squad responded to decontaminate the individual prior to being transported to Police HQ in Bedminster Twp.

Friday 8/12/16 6:08 PM - Police reported that Patrol located a down tree and wires on Willow Avenue near Tainter Street. The lines were arching and were on fire. The Peapack and Gladstone Fire Department responded and stood by in case there was a fire emergency. The road was closed for several hours until the wires and tree were removed.

Friday 8/12/16 10:29 PM - Police reported that they responded to a Spring Hollow Road address in Far Hills to assist Far Hills PD with an open door at a residence. It was determined that there was nothing suspicious and no sign of a burglary was evident.

Saturday 8/13/16 1:53 AM - Police reported that they responded to a Tainter St address for a report of an audible alarm coming from the basement. Patrol checked the residence and determined the activation was due to the area power outage.

Saturday 8/13/16 2:47 PM - Police reported that they responded to Café Azzuro, 141 Main Street, for a report of a 72 year old male possibly experiencing a cardiac emergency. Patrol arrived and placed the victim on oxygen and monitored vitals until the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid & Rescue Squad arrived and assumed patient care. The victim was transported to Morristown Medical Center with Medics from Robert-Wood Johnson Somerset.

Saturday 8/13/16 11:26 PM - Police reported that they responded to 209 Main Street in Gladstone for a noise complaint. It was determined that the music was coming from a vehicle in the driveway. The operator of the vehicle was advised of the complaint and complied by turning the music down to an acceptable level.

Sunday 8/14/16 4:10 PM - Police reported that 21 year old Plainsboro, NJ man was arrested for a traffic warrant out of South Brunswick Municipal Court. The man was stopped when Ofc. Adam Caruso conducted a random check of the vehicle registration as it traveled northbound on Rt. 206. Gupta’s driving privileges in the State of New Jersey were also suspended. Gupta was placed under arrest for the warrant. He was processed and released after satisfying the bail amount.
