Peapack and Gladstone Incidents- Week of 8/29-9/4

Monday 8/29/16 9:01 PM - Police reported that Ofc. Paul Morris stopped a vehicle on Rt. 206 near Ski Hill Drive for a headlamp violation. The stop resulted in the arrest of a 30 year old female from Phillipsburg, for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

Tuesday 8/30/16 12:13 PM - Police reported that they responded to Main Street in the area of Ramapo Way for a report of a wire down. Officers determined that the wire was a fiber-optic line and that it appeared to have been pulled down by a large vehicle. Verizon was notified and responded for repairs.

Tuesday 8/30/16 3:45 PM - Police reported that they responded Rt. 206 near Pottersville Rd for a two car motor vehicle crash. It was determined that deer were attempting to cross the highway which resulted in the collision. There were no injuries nor were any summonses issued.

Wednesday 8/31/16 6:53 PM - Police reported that they witnessed a man pumping gas from the gas pumps at the former Somerset County Maintenance Facility on Holland Avenue. The individual claimed to have been hired by Somerset County to empty the fuel tanks at that location, but was unable to produce any documentation to verify. The Somerset County Road Department was contacted and it was determined that the individual was in fact permitted to be there.

Thursday 9/1/16 11:52 AM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department, responded to the area of CocoLuxe Fine Pastries for the report of a possible electrical fire. After investigating, it was determined that the odor of smoke was coming from a faulty fan in the restroom of the business.

Friday 9/2/16 1:20 PM - Police reported they responded to Main Street in front of the Municipal Building for a report of a one vehicle crash. Upon arriving Police found that the vehicle was a motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle stated that a vehicle turned in front of him, causing him to fall from the bike. The operator refused medical treatment. The motorcycle was towing from the scene. The vehicle which caused the crash was unable to be located.

Saturday 9/3/16 2:25 PM - Police reported that they responded to a Gladstone residence for a request for a “Peace Officer.” Ofc. Richard Potts responded and stood by to ensure there was no issue between two parties at the residence.

Saturday 9/3/16 5:54 PM - Police reported they responded, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid & Rescue Squad and Medics from RWJ-Somerset, to a Gladstone residence for a report of a 92 year old female possible having a stroke. The female was transported to RWJ-Somerset for further evaluation.

Sunday 9/4/16 5:05 PM - Police reported that they responded to a Peapack residence for a report of a suicidal man. Upon arriving at the home, Police met with a RWJ-Somerset psychological evaluation screener who was on location. The officer remained on location until it was determined that the individual would be transported to RWJ-Somerset for further evaluation. Police transported the man to the hospital.
