Peapack and Gladstone Incidents- Week of 12/5-12/11/16
Monday 12/5/16 4:49 PM - A Peapack resident reported that while out for a walk, his dog was attacked by another resident’s dog. The dog sustained moderate injury and was taken to an animal hospital. Bernard’s Twp Animal Control was notified and were going to follow-up on the incident.
Monday 12/5/16 10:24 PM - Police reported that they responded to Matheny Medical & Educational facility for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police arrived, but the vehicle had already left the grounds. Minutes later, Far Hills Police stopped the vehicle on Rt. 202. Officers spoke with the operator and passenger, both from Philadelphia, who claimed they were looking for Blairsden. They two individuals were advised that residence was private and they should not attempt to trespass on the property. Both parties agreed and went on their way.
Tuesday 12/6/16 4:51 PM - Police reported that they responded to a Peapack residence for a report of a suspicious person/vehicle. Upon arriving, the vehicle had left the residence. The caller informed officers that a vehicle pulled into her driveway and a male, claiming to be a flower delivery person, came to her front door. The homeowner told the individual that she was not expecting flowers and that he was at the wrong address. The male returned to his vehicle, but exited and went to another door before going back to his car and leaving the residence. Police located the driver at a nearby location and determined that the individual was at the wrong residence.
Wednesday 12/7/16 7:53 AM - Police responded to a car versus deer crash on Rt. 206 north of Pottersville Rd. A deer ran into the highway and struck the first vehicle on the passenger side. The deer was then struck by a second vehicle immediately behind the first vehicle. There was moderate damage to the first vehicle which was towed from the scene. The second vehicle sustained minor damage.
Wednesday 12/7/16 11:49 AM - Police reported that they received a call for a suspicious vehicle and someone possibly in the home in Gladstone. While responding the caller informed dispatchers that the vehicle was a utility company vehicle. It was determined that the individual was at the home to check the service.
Friday 12/9/16 10:06 PM - Ofc. Adam Caruso stopped a vehicle on Rt. 206 near Pottersville Rd for speeding. During the stop, Ofc. Caruso detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. A 19 year old female of Sicklerville, NJ was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The female was transported to Police HQ where she was processed and released.
Sunday 12/11/16 12:58 AM - Police reported that they stopped a vehicle for speeding on Main St near the Gladstone Train Station. Ofc. Adam Caruso spoke with the operator of the vehicle and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. A 20 year old male of Great Neck, NY was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. The male was transported to Police HQ where he was processed and released.
