Peapack and Gladstone Incidents- Week of 1/30/17-2/5/17

Monday 1/30/17 9:59 PM - Police reported that they responded to a residence on Main Street for a dispute between two individuals over retrieving property from a motor vehicle. Officers were able to mediate the return of personal property to the rightful owner.

Tuesday 1/31/17 11:17 AM - Officers responded to the intersection of Main Street and Old Chester Road for a two vehicle crash. It was determined that the cause of the crash was unsafe speed on the snow covered roadway. As a result of the crash, the roadway was closed for approximately one hour while the vehicles were removed from the scene. There was moderate damage to both vehicles. No summonses were issued.

Tuesday 1/31/17 6:06 PM - Police reported a one car motor vehicle crash on Pottersville Road near Fowler Road. The crash occurred when the vehicle struck a deer which crossed in front of the vehicle. There were no injuries to the driver. There was moderate damage to the vehicle which was driven from the scene.

Tuesday 1/31/17 6:41 PM - Police responded to Fowler Road near Pine Meadow Lane for a report of a car versus deer motor vehicle crash. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Fowler Road when a deer ran into the driver’s side front corner. There was moderate damage to the vehicle.

Wednesday 2/1/17 5:07 PM - Police reported a two car, rear end motor vehicle crash on RT. 206. Both vehicles were in stop-and-go traffic while heading northbound. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene. No summonses were issued.

Thursday 2/2/17 11:14 PM - Police reported that they attempted to stop a vehicle, wanted out of Chester Township, which was reported as being stolen. Ofc. Adam Caruso and Cpl. Owen Duff overheard a transmission from Morris County Police Dispatch advising that a vehicle had been stolen from a residence just outside of Peapack and Gladstone Borough. Ofc. Caruso responded to the area of Rt. 206 where he witnessed the white BMW SUV heading southbound. He attempted to stop the vehicle, which sped off into Bedminster Township. Caruso ended his involvement after approximately one mile where a Bedminster Twp officer picked up the pursuit.

Friday 2/3/17 7:18 AM - Police reported that they were dispatched to a Peapack residence for a ten year old having a seizure. Officer Dirk Sheasley monitored the juvenile until the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid & Rescue Squad arrived and assumed patient care. The boy was transported to Morristown Medical Center.

Saturday 2/4/17 1:24 AM - Police responded to a Gladstone residence for a report of a suspicious person/vehicle. A caller notified Police that a vehicle stopped at his neighbor’s home and an individual exited the vehicle and began to walk around the house. Shortly after the individual got back in the car and left the scene. Officers located the vehicle traveling on Mendham Road where Det. Anthony Damiano stopped it. It was determined that the driver was working for a livery company and was attempting to return items left in the vehicle. Officers confirmed this with the resident at the home.

Sunday 2/5/17 3:06 AM - Police reported that they located a vehicle parked outside of a Peapack business on Rt. 206. There were several individuals outside the business which had been closed for hours. Officers learned that the vehicle had run out of fuel. Police were able to give directions to another party who responded to fuel for the disabled vehicle.

Sunday 2/5/17 6:20 PM - Officers responded to Holland Avenue at the intersection of Rt. 206 for a report of a two car, rear end motor vehicle crash. There was minor damage to both vehicles were driven from the scene and no summonses were issued.

Sunday 2/5/17 8:20 PM - Ofc. Adam Caruso stopped a vehicle on Rt. 206 near Pottersville Road when a random check of the vehicle’s registration showed that the owner had a warrant for her arrest. Caruso stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as a 45 year old female from Hopatcong. She was arrested and processed for the warrant out of Brick Township Municipal Court.
