Peapack and Gladstone Incidents- Week of 3/06/17-3/12/17

Monday 3/06/17 5:22 PM - Officers responded to the Peapack Sunoco on Rt. 206 for a report of suspicious persons. A caller stated that there were four males standing around the store cursing. Cpl. Owen Duff spoke with a worker at the store who advised him that there were a four men in the store a few minutes earlier, but they were not doing anything wrong or inappropriate.

Tuesday 3/07/17 8:47 PM - Police reported that they arrested a 28 year old female of West Trenton on an $800 warrant out of West Milford Municipal Court. The female was stopped on Rt. 206 for the warrant and an obstructed windshield. She was processed and released.

Tuesday 3/07/17 9:40 PM - Officers responded to a Peapack residence for a suspicious incident. The homeowner advised officers that she heard someone moving a chair on her front porch. Cpl. Owen Duff conducted a check of the area, but was unable to locate anyone.

Wednesday 3/08/17 12:25 AM - Police reported that they responded to a Peapack residence for a report of a missing cat. Officers were able to locate the cat and returned it to the owner.

Wednesday 3/08/17 4:13 PM - Officers were dispatched to the area of Main Street and St. Luke’s Avenue for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that there was a red van driving in and out driveways on St. Luke’s Avenue. Det. Anthony Damiano located the vehicle and spoke with the driver who was in search of an address to his friend’s residence. The driver was searching for Garfield, NJ and was provided directions.

Wednesday 3/08/17 5:40 PM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad, responded to a Peapack residence for a report of an attempted suicide. Officers arrived on location to find the victim intoxicated with a wound to his wrist. Police assisted the victim until the PG Rescue Squad arrived and assumed patient care. The victim was transported to RWJ Barnabas- Somerset Hospital by the PG Rescue Squad.

Friday 3/10/17 8:31 PM - Police reported a one car motor vehicle crash on Rt. 206 near Pottersville Rd. The vehicle, heading southbound on Rt. 206, struck a deer which ran into the roadway. The vehicle sustained moderate damage to the front end. There were no injuries.

Saturday 3/11/17 12:27 PM - Police responded to a residence on Highland Avenue for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The homeowner advised officers that the past week multiple vehicles have driven up the driveway. Cpl. Owen Duff located the vehicle and learned that there was an event at a nearby residence at the driver was indeed lost.

Saturday 3/11/17 7:24 PM - Officers were dispatched to a Peapack residence for an elderly man who need assistance getting into bed. Ofc. Adam Caruso helped the man, who was uninjured, back into bed.

Saturday 3/11/17 9:15 PM - Police reported that an officer responded into Far Hills Borough to assist a Far Hills officer on a motor vehicle stop. During the stop, Far Hills PD located a weapon in the backseat of the car. The weapon turned out to be a pellet gun.

Sunday 3/12/17 1:15 PM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department to a Gladstone residence for a chimney fire. Officers arrived on location to find an active fire coming from the top of the chimney. Peapack-Gladstone FD arrived and extinguished the flames. There was no structural damage to the residence.

Sunday 3/12/17 3:56 PM - A Gladstone resident came to Police Headquarters to report a theft. The victim explained to officers that he sold items from a home he demolished to a business in Asbury Park. To date the resident has not been paid for the items taken. Investigation is ongoing into the matter.

Sunday 3/12/17 6:58 PM - Police stopped a vehicle on Rt. 206 just into Chester TWP. A check of the vehicle’s registered owner showed a warrant for her arrest. Ofc. Adam Caruso placed the 29 year old female under arrest for the $1,000.00 warrant out of Middletown Municipal Court. She was processed and released. She was issued a summons for Obstruction of Windshield.
