Peapack and Gladstone Incidents- Week of 7/3/17-7/9/17

Monday 7/3/17 8:58 AM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad, responded to a Gladstone residence for a report of a medical alarm. Officers located the resident who was experiencing difficulty breathing and a rapid heart rate. The patient was placed on oxygen and officers monitored vitals until the arrival of the PG First Aid Squad and Medics. The victim was transported to Morristown Medical Center for further evaluation.

Monday 7/3/7 2:55 PM - Police reported a residential burglary at a Gladstone residence. The homeowner contacted police to report that items had been taken from the residence and that footage from the security cameras at the home had been deleted. There were no signs of forced entry to the home. In total, items missing totaled over $500.

Monday 7/3/17 7:56 PM - Officers responded to a Peapack residence for a report of a domestic. The female caller stated that she was involved in an altercation with her parents and that it had become physical in nature. After investigating the accusation, it was determined that there had been a verbal argument and no physical altercation. All parties agreed to separate amicably.

Monday 7/3/17 9:07 PM - Police were dispatched to Main Street near #89 for a report of a verbal dispute. Officers arrived to find a cab driver from New York City in a dispute with a 21 year old Bronx man. Kevin Barreto of Bronx, NY had requested the cab driver take him from NYC to 89 Main St and stated that he would compensate the driver when he reached that location. Upon arriving in Peapack, Barreto advised he did not have the fare of $190 nor could he get the money. Barreto was arrested and charged with Theft of Services.

Monday 7/3/17 10:42 PM - A 35 year old Philadelphia, PA man was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Handgun and Possession of CDS (marijuana). Ofc. Adam Caruso stopped a pick-up truck being operated by Daniel Eric Will for speeding. Upon stopping Will’s vehicle, Caruso detected odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Will informed Caruso that he was in possession of marijuana and had a loaded handgun in the console of his truck. Will was placed under arrest and transported to Police HQ where he was processed. Will was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Possession of CDS, Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and Speeding.

Tuesday 7/4/17 12:50 PM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad, responded to a Peapack home for a report of a sick person. Officers located the elderly male at the residence and monitored vitals until the arrival of the PG First Aid Squad. The patient was transported to RWJB-Somerset for further evaluation.

Tuesday 7/4/17 8:24 PM - Police arrested 28 year old Leann Detulio of Edison, NJ for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ofc. Adam Caruso stopped a vehicle being operated by Detulio for Speeding on Rt. 206. Ofc. Caruso detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Detulio would later admit to being in possession of device used to grind raw marijuana. Detulio was placed under arrest, processed, and released.

Tuesday 7/4/17 9:17 PM - While processing the arrest of another individual, officers learned that 31 year old Evan M. Brown of Avenel, NJ had a warrant for his arrest. Brown was a passenger in a vehicle in which the driver had been arrested by Peapack and Gladstone officers approximately one hour earlier. While officers were completing the processing of the other individual, Brown’s information was checked as part of the report process. A $500 warrant out of Cranford Municipal Court was discovered. Cranford Police Department was contacted and advised Brown was in custody. PG officers were advised to release Brown and provide him with a new court date.

Tuesday 7/4/17 9:58 PM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad, responded to a Gladstone restaurant for the report of a fall victim with an arm injury. Officers located the female victim who was in considerable pain. Police monitored the patient’s vital signs until the PG First Aid Squad arrived and assumed care of the patient. She was transported to Morristown Medical Center by the PG First Aid Squad.

Wednesday 7/5/17 1:48 PM - Police reported that they responded to a Gladstone residence for a report of an allergic reaction. Officers located the victim, placed the 45 year old male on oxygen, and monitored his vitals. The Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad arrived and assumed patient care. He was transported to Morristown Medical Center for follow up.

Friday 7/7/17 10:41 PM - Police reported that they conducted a stop of a 2008 VW for an expired registration. The vehicle was heading southbound on Rt. 206 when Cpl. Thomas Scanlon conducted a random license plate inquiry on the vehicle and learned the vehicle’s registration expired in April of 2017. Cpl. Scanlon stopped the vehicle and checked the driver’s license which showed a warrant out of Phoenix, AZ. The warrant only had extradition out of neighboring states to Arizona, therefore the driver was no arrest. Gregory C. Wilson was issued a summons for the expired registration.

Saturday 7/8/17 8:48 AM - Police reported a one car motor vehicle crash on Mendham Rd near Church St. A vehicle heading southbound struck a dog causing serious injury to the animal which ran into the roadway in front of the vehicle. There was minor damage to the vehicle. The dog was transported to a local veterinary clinic.

Sunday 7/9/17 3:54 AM - Police responded to a Gladstone residence for a report of a domestic. Officers arrived to find the female caller in the driveway of the residence. She claimed that her husband locked her out of the home and would not let her in. Police spoke with the male in the home who advised that his wife had been out drinking with friends and he did not want an argument to ensue and escalate to a physical confrontation. The male agreed to leave and stay at a friend’s house for the remained of the night.
