Peapack and Gladstone Incidents - Week of 7/31/17-8/06/17

Monday 7/31/17 4:16 AM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad, responded to a Gladstone residence for a report of an elderly man with intestinal bleeding. Police stood by with the victim until the PG First Aid Squad arrived and the patient was transported to Morristown Medical Center.

Monday 7/31/17 3:10 PM - Police reported a three car motor vehicle crash on Rt. 206 in the area of Pottersville Rd. Two of the vehicles had come to a stop in traffic. A third vehicle failed to come to a stop and struck the middle vehicle which in turn caused the middle vehicle to impact the first vehicle. Two of the vehicles were towed from the scene. There were no injuries nor were any summonses issued.

Tuesday 8/1/17 7:29 PM - Officers were requested to assist Bedminster Twp Police with a road rage incident on Pottersville Rd near Black River Rd. PG officers located a group of cyclists who had an altercation with a driver of a motor vehicle. An alleged assault had occurred as a result of the altercation. PG officers stood by with the involved parties until Bedminster Twp officers were able to respond.

Tuesday 8/1/17 11:08 PM - Cpl. Thomas Scanlon located a vehicle parked in Natirar Park after the park had closed. The vehicle was occupied by two individuals. Cpl. Scanlon informed the parties that the Park was closed and that they were no permitted to be there after hours. As one of the occupants was a juvenile, Cpl. Scanlon made contact with a parent who gave permission to have the 18 year old driver bring the juvenile home. The driver was issued a summons for a violation of a provisional driver’s license prior to leaving the Park.

Wednesday 8/2/17 9:36 AM - Police were dispatched to a Peapack residence for a report of a sick female. Officers monitored vitals for the 64 year old female who may have been experiencing a diabetic emergency. The victim was transported to Morristown Medical Center for further evaluation.

Wednesday 8/2/17 7:56 PM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad and the Far Hills Police Department, responded to a Peapack residence for a report of a sick person. Officers monitored the female victim, who had recently had surgery, until the arrival of the PG First Aid Squad. The female was transported to Morristown Medical Center.

Thursday 8/3/17 7:25 PM - Police responded to the area of Mendham Rd near Overlook Ave for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Officers arrived to find damage to a traffic sign and that the vehicle had left the scene. A witness provided a license plate number to a Nissan which was believed to be involved in the crash. Officers were able to locate a Peapack address for a registered owner of the vehicle. Police responded to the residence where they located 62 year old Feriz Lamaj of 85 Main St in Peapack. Lamaj was found hiding in the woods behind the residence. He admitted he had been drinking alcohol and striking the sign. Lamaj was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. His vehicle, located in the parking lot, was towed and impounded. Lamaj was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Hindering Apprehension. He was released after being processed.

Friday 8/4/17 2:05 PM - While on patrol, Ofc. Adam Caruso located an individual with a warrant out of Peapack and Gladstone Municipal Court. 21 year old Kevin Barreto was arrested and taken into custody on the $500 warrant. Barreto was transported to Police HQ in Peapack where he was processed. As Barreto was unable to pay the bail amount, he was lodged at the Somerset County Jail pending a Court date.

Saturday 8/5/17 1:06 AM - Police arrested 22 year old Kaileigh Nelson of Chester, NJ on a traffic warrant out of Lyndhurst Municipal Court. Det. Anthony Damiano stopped Nelson’s vehicle for failing to maintain the lane of travel. A check of Nelson’s driver’s license showed to warrant for $81.00. Nelson was processed and released.

Saturday 8/5/17 12:41 AM - Cpl. Thomas Scanlon responded to assist Far Hills PD with an overturned motor vehicle on the train tracks in Far Hills. The juvenile operating the vehicle appeared to be intoxicated. She claimed to have been involved in an altercation with her boyfriend prior to leaving with his vehicle. The juvenile was taken into custody by Far Hills PD.

Saturday 8/5/17 8:23 PM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad, responded to a Peapack restaurant for a report of an elderly fall victim. The female victim complained of wrist pain. Police supplied an ice pack and remained with the victim until she was transported to Morristown Medical Center by the PG First Aid Squad.

Saturday 8/5/17 8:50 PM - Officers were dispatched to a Gladstone residence for a report of bat in the residence. It was reported that a female in the residence may have been bitten by the bat. Police were able to catch the bat and contained it until the following morning when Bernard’s Twp Animal Control responded to collect the bat for testing.

Saturday 8/5/17 11:35 PM - Police reported that they located a vehicle in Natirar Park after hours. There were two individuals inside the vehicle. The parties were identified as a 21 year old Basking Ridge resident and a 22 year old from Staten Island, NY. The parties were advised that the Park was closed at sundown and they were not permitted to be there. They left without incident.

Sunday 8/6/17 12:42 AM - Police reported that they stopped a vehicle on Holland Ave near Main St for maintenance of lamps. Det. Anthony Damiano made contact with the driver, a Bernardsville resident. Damiano detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from within the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle admitted to having marijuana in his possession. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Two of the four individuals inside the vehicle were placed under arrest. Both were charged with Possession of CDS Less Than 50 Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were processed and released pending their Court date.
