Peapack and Gladstone Incidents - Week of 10/02/17 - 10/08/17

Wednesday 10/04/17 1:59 PM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad, responded to a Gladstone residence for a report of an elderly man in an altered mental state. Police arrived to find the victim conscious and alert in the home with family. The PG First Aid Squad arrived an assumed patient care. The male was transported to Morristown Medical Center for further evaluation.

Wednesday 10/4/17 10:19 PM - While conducting a check of Natirar Park, Det. Anthony Damiano located a vehicle in one of the parking lots. The vehicle was empty, but Det. Damiano used a thermal imaging camera to locate a male and female just into the woods. The two individuals returned to the vehicle where Det. Damiano advised them that they were in violation of Somerset County Park Rules and Regulations for being in the Park after hours. After a check for wants/warrants both individuals were issued warnings and permitted to leave.

Thursday 10/5/17 5:39 PM - Police reported a two car motor vehicle crash on Rt. 206 and Pottersville Rd. The rear-end crash occurred when a 49 year old Ledgewood resident failed to stop in time and struck the rear of 62 year old Chester woman’s vehicle. The female from Ledgewood was transported to the hospital by the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad for a head injury. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. There were no summonses issued.

Saturday 10/7/17 6:54 PM - Officers responded to a Peapack Road residence in Far Hills Borough to assist with a dispute. Cpl. Owen Duff arrived to find that all involved parties were separated. Cpl. Duff remained on location until Far Hills officers arrived and conducted their investigation into the incident.

Saturday 10/7/17 8:47 PM - A motorist stopped and advised Ofc. Adam Caruso that he witnessed a vehicle driving erratically. At one point the motorist said the other vehicle tried to pass him on a one lane portion of Rt. 206 and the male driver began yelling obscenities at him. Ofc. Caruso was able to stop the vehicle in question. The red pick-up truck was being operated by a 39 year old Monmouth Junction man. The man denied having operated his vehicle in an erratic manner and claimed that he did not have any interaction with another driver. Ofc. Caruso gather the driver’s information and advised the complainant on the process of signing a complaint through the court.

Saturday 10/7/17 9:51 PM - Officers responded into Far Hills Borough to assist with a report of gunshots on Sunnybranch Rd. Officers from Far Hills and Peapack and Gladstone checked the area, but were unable to locate anyone.

Saturday 10/7/17 10:43 PM - Police received a complaint of juveniles throwing rocks at vehicles in the area of Rt. 206 and Holland Ave. A Stanhope resident claimed that his vehicle was struck with a rock as he passed through the area. There was no damage to his vehicle. Ofc. Adam Caruso checked the area, but did not locate anyone.

Sunday 10/8/17 12:59 AM - Cpl. Owen Duff responded into Far Hills Borough to assist with a report of a tree limb down on Rt. 202 and Dumont Rd. Far Hills PD was tied up with an arrest at the time. Cpl. Duff located a piece of a tree limb and removed it from the roadway.

Sunday 10/8/17 9:28 PM - Police were requested to assist Far Hills Police with a dispute at a Peapack Rd. residence. Officers were at the residence on Saturday 10/7 for a similar incident. Ofc. Adam Caruso assisted as needed until the investigation was complete.
