Peapack and Gladstone Incidents - Week of 11/27/17-12/3/17
Monday 11/27/17 5:49 PM - Police reported a two car, hit-and-run motor vehicle crash on Rt. 206 near Pfizer Way. Both vehicles were heading northbound when they impacted as two lanes merged to one. One of the vehicles continued northbound and did not stop. The driver of the other involved vehicle was able to copy down the license plate of the vehicle continuing northbound. Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Thursday 11/30/17 2:07 AM - Police arrested 39 year old David Leute of Stamford, Ct for Possession of Marijuana. Det. Anthony Damiano witnessed a vehicle, operated by Leute, pull into the Peapack Sunoco at around 2:00 AM. Det. Damiano saw an individual exit the vehicle and stand near the rear. When Damiano pulled into the lot to check on the individual he noticed what appeared to be urine on the ground and on the rear tire. When he spoke with Leute, he observed obvious signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests led to Leute’s arrest. A search of Leute’s vehicle yielded a large quantity of marijuana in a cellophane bag. A check of Leute’s driver’s license showed a traffic warrant. Leute was placed under arrest, transported to Police HQ, and processed. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of over 50 grams of Marijuana, and Urinating in Public.
Thursday 11/30/17 10:40 AM - 32 year old Mohammad O. Ansari of Jersey City was arrested for multiple warrants out of Union City Court. Cpl. Thomas Scanlon stopped a vehicle operated by Ansari for an equipment violation. A check of Ansari’s license showed the warrants. Ansari was unable to post bail and was transported to Somerset County Jail. He was issued summonses for Maintenance of Lamps, Driving While Suspended, and Failing to Exhibit a Valid Registration.
Friday 12/1/17 5:34 AM - Police, along with the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid Squad, responded to a Peapack residence for a report of an arm injury. Officers located the 50 year old patient who had bruising on her arm. The PG First Aid Squad arrived and transported the victim to Morristown Medical Center.
Saturday 12/2/17 9:48 AM - Police and the Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department were dispatched to the area of Mendham Rd and Mosle Rd for a report of heavy smoke. A search of the area determined that a resident was burning tree branched in his back yard BBQ.
Sunday 12/3/17 9:58 AM - Police reported a two car motor vehicle crash on Main Street near Willow Ave. Both vehicles were headed southbound when the first vehicle stopped for a pedestrian crossing Main Street. The second vehicle failed to stop and struck the first vehicle in the rear. There was minor damage to both vehicles. A passenger in the first vehicle complained of pain, but refused medical attention at the scene.
Sunday 12/3/17 8:43 PM - Police reported the arrest of a 50 year old Peapack woman for a warrant. Officers located the female at her residence and placed her under arrest. A family member responded to Police HQ and was able to post bail. The female was released with a pending Court date.
